Datum input - LKP information
When you first select the Datum option from the menu, the following screen will be displayed -

•A : The LKP position - the coordinates of the LKP
•B : The date and time the casualty was at the LKP position
•C : The confidence level you have in the LKP position
•D : The "Continue" button is clicked when you have entered the Coordinates and checked the Date and the Time at LKP. It takes you to the next question of how you want to determine the Datum time
LKP Coordinates
There are three options that are offered when you enter the latitude and longitude of the LKP position -
•You can enter your own coordinates - the coordinates are not being stored in SearchWell anywhere but they have been given to you by a third party
•You can use coordinates from the Points Table
•You can use previously calculated coordinates
Own Coordinates
If the coordinates are not stored in SearchWell, you can type them into the green "Coordinates" box. The coordinates can be entered in any coordinate format, and may contain symbols but they don't have to. Refer to the description of Coordinate input found in the "Important Information" section of this manual for further details.
Points Table

When you select the Points Table by clicking on the circle on the right of the label, the screen will change to display a screen as shown above.
Please refer to the Points Table in the Important Information.
Previously calculated coordinates

When you select the "Prev Calc" by clicking on the circle on the right of the label, the screen will change to display a screen as shown above.
•A : A list of the previous calculations will be displayed. Make sure that you select a calculation that is related to the current situation and not one that was calculated a number of days before. When you click on the required calculation, the coordinates will be displayed in the green "Coordinate" box.
Datum time
The date and the time that are first shown on the form default to the current date and time.
Date

To change the date click on the little down-arrow on the right side of the date box and a calendar will appear on the screen. Click on the required date
Time
To change the time is slightly finicky .... the hour and the minutes have to be changed separately, so highlight the two digits of the hour and type in the required hour, then the two digits of the minutes will automatically be highlight and they can be changed.
Confidence in the coordinates
It is important to record how confident you are in the LKP coordinate information (See "Probability and Confidence" in the "Important Information" section).
