Estimated Time of Arrival




The description for the Start Point and End Point is the same.


The coordinates of the Start and End Points can come from - 

A : Own Coordinates - if this option is selected (the default) only the coordinates box will be displayed and you can type the coordinates you require (see Coordinates in the Important Information section)

B : Points Table - if this option is selected the screen will display an addition two input boxes as shown in the Start section above

o(i)        The filter where you can type words that will filter out the list of points displayed in the table.  Type your word(s) and press ENTER

o(ii)        The list of points will be displayed when you click the small down arrow to the right of the box.  Find the required point and click on it

o(iii)        The coordinates of the point will be displayed in this box

C : Station Table - only input boxes (ii) and (iii) will be displayed.  The list of Stations will be found when you click on the small down arrow on the right of the box.  Find the station name and click on it and the launch coordinates for the Station will be displayed in the Coordinates box

D : LKP or Datum - again, only input boxes (ii) and (iii) will be displayed.  The list of the last calculations will be displayed when you click on the small down arrow on the right of the box.  Find the calculation you require and click on it and the coordinates will be displayed in the Coordinates box.

E : Extra Distance - there are times that the vessel will have to navigate around a point in order to reach the End Point (ie they cannot go in a straight line).  In these cases you will need to get into Google Earth Pro and draw a path line to get the added distance -



F : Speed - the average speed the vessel will be able to maintain between Point A and Point B

G : Start Time - this is an optional field.  If it is given the ETA answer will include the time of arrival at Point B

H : CALCULATE button - once all the information has been input, click on this button to perform the calculation

I : Answer - the result of the calculation will be displayed in the Answer box

oThe distance between Point A and Point B in nautical miles

oThe time it will take to travel the distance given in minutes

oThe time of arrival at Point B (if a start time was given - see G)

J : CLEAR button - this will clear all the information currently displayed on the form
