Two Points - distance and bearing between them

•A : The Coordinate input for Point A and Point B is much the same, and both coordinates are required 

The coordinates can come from two sources

oYou can enter your own coordinates by typing them into the darker green box (see Coordinate input in Important Information section)

oYou can take the coordinates from the Points Table by

▪Optionally you can type in a word in the filter box and then press ENTER.  When you do this it will filter the points that will be displayed in the selection box to the right)

▪You can select a point from the table by clicking on the small down arrow in the right of the input box and then clicking on the point that you require

The coordinates of the selected point will be displayed in the Coordinates box

•B : Magnetic variation - this is required for calculating the Magnetic bearing between the two points.  The default number that is displayed is the magnetic variation for the default station, in this case Kommetjie - but you can type in any number for the magnetic variation

•C : CALCULATE button - click on this button to perform the calculation and display the answer

•D : The answer will display in the Answer box - 

oThe Distance between the two points given in nautical miles

oThe True Bearing from Point A to Point B

oThe Magnetic Bearing from Point A to Point B

•E : CLEAR button which will clear all the input and output from the form

•F : HELP buttons which will display the help in a window on the form
